  • Grilling Tip -  Prevent sticking on your grill by oiling the hot rack with a vegetable oil soaked paper towel. Never use cooking spray on a hot grill.

  • Revive sparkling wine or champagne that has gone flat by dropping one or two raisins in the bottle. The natural sugars will restore the bubbles!

  • To keep cottage cheese fresher longer, store upside down in the refrigerator.

  • Clean copper cookware by sprinkling it with salt and then rub it with the cut end of half a lemon. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.

  • To help neutralize the acid, add 1/4 tsp baking soda when cooking cranberries. You'll find that you will need less sugar.

  • Use plastic wrap, foil or wax paper to completely cover the inside of an opened container of ice cream. Pat it down so it sticks to the ice cream - make sure to do the corners also. This will keep your ice cream from getting freezer burnt. Tip submitted by Lynn May

  • To test the freshness of baking powder, add 1 teaspoon of baking powder to 1/3 cup water. If the water does not fizz, throw it out.
